the doctor within
By: Beloved Bondservant
As a nutritional coach my success is dependent on me introducing you to the Doctor within.  Just as any coaches responsibility is to inspire you to win the game.  In the end what wins the game  when both teams are prepared is the one who wants it more.  When a coach can tap into the indominable spirit that inspires you to want to win then that team is hard to beat.  The Doctor within knows your body intimately and like any physician you have the ability to ignore or embrace the advice that He provides.  Yet we put more faith in a system and a doctor who legitimately lets us know that he is practicing then we do in the one within us who has no need to practice, but knows what we need.  His solutions need no disclaimers, make no false promises, and requires no signed waivers.
I submit to you the greatest hindrance to our healing is our unwillingness to surrender to the wisdom of the Almighty, instead we would rather find ourselves a physician to be our scapegoat.  We major in those who practice because they will give us something that will remove the pain, but not cure the disease rather then submit ourselves under the guidance of the only one who can heal us. I take note that scripture makes it clear that God is the one who heals us.  Essential oils, herbs, drugs, surgery, and any other modality cannot make such claims.  None of these things can fill the void within us, nor can they heal the emotional scars that inflict us; cure the issues of rejection we harbor or the feelings of neglect we entertain.  Quench the thirst of hatred and contempt that we feed on which pumps like blood in our veins.  Our only chance of being healed comes from having a relationship with Jesus Christ (Yahoshua Ha Messiah).  This is not to be confused with religion also known as our denomination and its doctrine.  Religion is based on what we do, relationship is based on what he did for us.  Hence, we love Him because He first loved us.1
Is this not mimicked in life itself?  A child doesn’t love the parents first when they come out of the womb they are incapable of thinking beyond themselves.  It is the responsibility of the parent to shower love upon them and show them what love is.  How effectively we do that will be revealed because if the teacher taught, the lesson would be learned.  However, in the case of Spiritual birth things are quite different and this difference was denoted by the Messiah when engaging in a conversation with Nicodemus.  In fact, the Messiah was amazed that here you have a leader of Israel who couldn’t understand what He was saying.2
When we are born from our parents they have limited choices concerning specific things about you from appearance, gender, defects, hair color, etc…in the matter and you as the child have even less concerning yourself or to whom you would belong.  However, when we are born again, like Adam had a choice to make which led mankind to the state we find ourselves in today, we must choose to align ourselves with the Most High.  The birth or more importantly the rebirth in this exchange must first come from our lips which breathe the echo of our heart, not our head, and then He honors our invitation by abiding within us.3  So in effect we are given the opportunity to be placed in the position Adam was in before sin as it relates to our relationship with God.  We are given a clean slate and the breached covenant between us and God has been repaired by the Messiah.
Yet let’s not get too excited too soon, while that is an AWESOME revelation we must remember that the conditions haven’t changed.  Just as Adam’s love for God was proven in his obedience, Yahoshua lets us know our love for Him is based on the same expectation.4
So many of us think it is a Rhema word from Yah that we need when we haven’t fully been convinced that we ought to obey the written word.  Let’s look at the Creator of the Universe as we would our own earthly father’s, shall we.  If your dad told you to wash the car and for weeks you never did it do you really think he would teach you how to drive it if you haven’t even obeyed his first command?  I don’t think a rational father would.  Likewise, if I go before the father expecting him to cure me of high blood pressure, but I refuse to put down the pork chop he told me over and over again not to eat what secret to health can I expect Him to share that will keep me from having heart problems?
Its really not brain surgery the truth of the matter is many of us use the doctors as a means of circumventing the wisdom of the Father.  Much as a child who has been forbidden from playing video games will go to a neighbor’s house to play theirs in order to get from under the rules of the house.  Just as a fornicator uses a condom to circumvent the intended purpose of sex, which is to fully give oneself to another trusting in God to determine if this expression of love will lead to producing the Godly seed He desires.5
Do doctors have a role in God’s plan for health?
Yes, I firmly believe God has a plan for doctors in our lives.  Like everything else in most cases we abuse something God provided for one purpose by using for a purpose to which it wasn’t intended.  In cases of accidents, trauma related incidences, or in some cases birth abnormalities conventional allopathic medicine has much indeed to offer.  However, many of the diseases that we seek physicians assistance for is caused by lifestyle choices that we make whether knowingly or out of ignorance.  Lifestyle choices that if we corrected ourselves wouldn’t require physicians assistance.  So out of our unwillingness or ignorance we will leave or avoid the house of bread to settle for the house of convenience.
The point is our circumstances shouldn’t dictate our response to healthcare crisis the Doctor within should.  My bible teaches me that Jesus (Yahoshua) never hit and miss.  There is not one account of an individual he “tried” to heal, but everyone who he touched or who touched him were healed.  In fact some he didn’t have to touch he could just speak the word and they were healed.  I have yet to find a doctor that has that testimony to his account.  Not a one can make that claim.
The purpose of the article this month is not to compare differentmodalities, but rather to encourage you to tune into the Creator’schannel concerning your health.  To encourage you that the best resource for how we should eat, drink, think, and live is already provided within the pages of scripture and know that we can trust that it works if we work it.  The bible tells us that if we hearken to the voice of  YHWH our God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep His statutes, He would put none of the diseases on us that were on the Egyptians.  He ends this verse by saying He is the God that Heals us.6  Hence, this verse is God’s prescription for health. He starts by identifying Himself as the doctor within us who speaks which we are instructed to listen to, to then do what the voice says because His voice will always lead us to do that which is right, and to give ear, keep and do, what is written (commandments, and statutes).
I submit to you this country is in a health care crisis that is going to bankrupt us because we choose not to return to the wisdom of the Creator and follow the simple prescription outlined in the above verse mentioned.  Our endorsing irresponsible behavior in essence is helping people to hurt themselves and government is the magic wand that is used to make it possible.
Finally, this article is a call to those who are tired of sleep walking and recognize that what we have been doing won’t last.  This is a return as a people to the Creator who not only gave us the rights  which we have enjoyed, but also to the way of life He gave us that leads to health, wellness, and freedom.  Will you answer the call of the Doctor within?
1We love him, because he first loved us. (1Jn 4:19)
2 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
(Joh 3:1-10)
3Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
(Joh 14:23)
4If ye love me, keep my commandments. (Joh 14:15)
5And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. (Mal 2:15)
6And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. (Exo 15:26)

The Tofu Truth

This month I am going to attempt to tackle the controversial soy issue. Soy has been the protein alternative of savvy health conscious people for many years. Much of the research hinges on the reported success of Soy in Japan, yet doesn’t take into account the form in which it is consumed. For instance, organic chicken is a healthy meat to eat, however, if it is deep fried in trans fats it loses its healthy edge. As is the case with vegetables as well. While potatoes may have a lot to bring to the table it is far better for you if it is baked then french fried. Likewise there are some important challenges we face with soy that we must take into consideration before we decide whether or not it is something we should embrace or discard. Food when processed undergoes a chemical change period that alters the make up of the food and in some instances it can cause it to excrete specific hormones into our bodies or in others it may take on an antinutritive effect that depletes the body of beneficial nutrients. How we process foods makes all the difference, and indeed we will see that this is also the case as it relates to soy.

For the purpose of this discussion we are going to break down two different classifications used to describe soy, fermented and unfermented. Sophisticated marketing avoids using these terms because an informed populous makes wiser choices, begins to question the myriad of products in which soy is being used, and effectually begin to hold those who are supposed to be looking out for the best interest of the people, our paid politicians, accountable.

Unfermented Soy has the most harmful affects on human development for a number of different reasons. Unfermented soy contains a large amount o phytic acid. Phytic acid can be beneficial in small doses, but we must first understand the function of phytic acid to understand the issue it presents within the body. “Phytic acids structure gives it the ability to bind minerals, proteins and starch, and results in lower absorption of these substances. Hence, phytic acid, in large amounts, can block the uptake of essential minerals, like calcium, magnesium, copper, iron, and especially zinc in the intestinal tract. Soy also inhibits the uptake of one of the most important minerals needed for growth and metabolism, iodine, which is used by the thyroid gland in the production of thyroid hormones.” Now to balance this for those who have a non-vegetarian diet and consume large amounts of iron, soy can help bind the excess iron. However, it should be noted that this applies to non GMO soy.  Please watch this video to find out about the dangerous affects of soy. By far this is the best comprehensive video I have seen on the net. For women and children soy pose a much bigger problem, especially since unlike most meat eating men who have a high intake of iron women tend to eat more on the herbivorous side of the plate. If it binds excess iron for meat eating men then it would also do it for less protein rich diets that women and children may eat. Hence, an increase in soy could contribute to taking needed iron from the bodies of those who consume them the most.

What other problems derive from an unfermented soy diet?

Apart from the phytic acid-related phenomena, there are additional factors that make soy an unhealthy choice.

* contributes to thyroid disorder, especially in women

* promotes kidney stones

* weakens the immune system

* contributes to food allergies and digestive intolerance

Perhaps the most disturbing of soy’s ill effects on health has to do with its phytoestrogens, which can mimic the effects of the female hormone, oestrogen. These phytoestrogens have been found to have adverse effects on various human tissues, and drinking only two glasses of soy milk daily for one month has enough of the chemical to alter a woman’s menstrual cycle. (1)

The greatest danger to boys who are fed a diet rich in estrogen could be linked to an increase, alteration, or suppression of other key hormones necessary for making a boy a boy.

So, is there any good in soy?
Glad you asked. Much of the renown research that has been done in Japan as we stated earlier was not done on the soy that most of us consume in this culture today. The soy that most Japanese consume is fermented soy. By fermenting soy you immobilize the phytic acid issue because the fermentation process neutralizes its inherent effects. Consuming fermented soy has the probiotic affect of recolonizing friendly bacteria back into the large intestines, which neutralizes the “unfriendly” bacteria and allows for greater general assimilation of foods and nutrients.

Finally, the bible says those who compare themselves among themselves are not wise, and how true is that especially when the comparison is not based on equal weights and measures. It is important that when considering soy we take in consideration two important factors, first and foremost is it organic or Genetically modified, and is it fermented or unfermented. It literally determines the difference between life giving and life draining. Consequently, Asian cultures consume between 10 to 90 grams of fermented soy per day, while the U.S. and Australia consume between 250g (1 cup of tofu) or 240g (soy milk) a day (unfermented). In Asian cultures they are consuming the whole soy which is another important distinction rather then isolating or extracting a part of the bean itself.

The summary below outlines the adverse effects of unfermented soy products:

* Trypsin inhibitors in soy interfere with protein digestion and may cause pancreatic disorders. In test animals soy containing trypsin inhibitors caused stunted growth.

* Soy phytoestrogens disrupt endocrine function and have the potential to cause infertility and to promote breast cancer in adult women.

* Soy phytoestrogens are potent anti-thyroid agents that cause hypothyroidism and may cause thyroid cancer. In infants, consumption of soy formula has been linked to autoimmune thyroid disease.
Vitamin B12 analogs in soy are not absorbed and actually increase the body’s requirement for B12.
Soy foods increase the body’s requirement for vitamin D.

* Fragile proteins are denatured during high temperature processing to make soy protein isolate and textured vegetable protein.

* Free glutamic acid or MSG, a potent neurotoxin, is formed during soy food processing and additional amounts are added to many soy foods.

* Soy foods contain high levels of aluminum which is toxic to the nervous system and the kidneys.

A Hebrew Moment
Thet is the ninth letter of the Hebrew Alephbet and the picture itself can lead one into multiple possibilities concerning its meaning. Gesenius tells us that the name is uncertain although commonly explained to have two meanings that are both supported by the Arabic word and Hebrew words meaning serpent and twisted or rolled together. Of course taken in context both make sense since one of the characteristics of a snake is its tendency is to curl or twist especially when in strike mode. Thus the two interpretations are consistent and in perfect harmony.
This week the word I chose to focus on is (tov) which means good. The hebrew word picture means surrounds and is inside. According to the Hebrew Word Pictures book written by Frank T. Seekins it means the outside and the inside are the same – there is no deception.
This is profound because now we can better understand what Yahoshua was saying when He said none is good but the Father. No one from the inside out are without deception, even in our sincerest motivation there is always something that we reserve for us, a gain we expect to get from either our good deed or our obedience. (Matt. 19:17) Yet in the beginning when God created us we had a nature that was without deception inside out and we turned in the glory that was put upon us by the deceptive communication given by the adversary. It is only through Christ are we able to obtain the status we had at the first. I hope if you are reading this that you have accepted the finish work of the Messiah as your covering and your hiding place because indeed only in Him is it all good…
What’s New
Essential Treasures believes in supporting those who are properly aligned to the values they hold.  First, having a love and call to share the Creator with a dying world, and secondly to do so with the moral integrity that our faith requires.  Tropical Traditions is a company that I have aligned myself with for a long period of time.  I have found there prices for the quality of their products to be reasonable and superior.  While there may be others who can out beat their price, they do make it clear on their website what their belief system is and for that I give them an A+ rating.  I have used them for years and have enjoyed their coconut oil, their coconut oil soap, etc… with no complaints.
Coconut oil is an excellent base to add to any essential oils you plan to apply topically or orally.  Containing high amounts of caprylic acid which is great for cognitive function it is an excellent supplement to any diet.  It is also very versatile, it can be used for soap creations, excellent for cooking since unlike Olive oil which is best served cold, it doesn’t become rancid when cooked.  It is also a great moisturizer for your hair providing the needed moisture without heavy grease feel.
