What’s new

I am so excited to add to the Essential Treasures Newsletter family a multi-talented friend and minister.  I would like to prep you as to what to expect every month from her, but its hard to contain such a dynamic and creative force and fit her into one hat.  Chantay is the host of At The Table Health Ministries which is a teleconference health education support group that started in 2002.  Chantay hosts this conference call every Saturday morning 6:30am-7:30am CST.  Her show focuses on revealing natural health based on biblical roots in an interactive way.  She has a relaxed teaching style that makes learning fun and enjoyable yet very informative. She holds two degrees in Psychology with one being a Masters in Industrial Organizational Psychology but will quickly tell you that her understanding of true health wasn’t found in just any book, but rather in her trust in God’s word, and faith in His ability to deliver.

Come out of her

Written by: Beloved Bondservant
God has called us to come out of the Babylonian system of thinking.1  This perverted and pervasive system infects every area of life.   We are just now seeing where the ends of its tentacles reach and how its influence has led to death rather than life.

Babylon’s mode of operandi is to mix both good and evil, just as the tree in the Garden of Eden was both the knowledge of good and evil.2 When we attempt to define good or evil apart from Yah then we esteem ourselves before the Creator.  Many have begun to come out of the system in some areas while maintaining one foot in the system in other areas.  While we recognize that we are in the world yet not of it, we mustn’t develop a lukewarm mentality as it relates to our involvement in it.

Poor decisions we make compromise our values and in making those choices we teach our children that for the right price their morals can be purchased.  The lessons of maintaining a steadfast disposition have become old fashioned and outdated.  Yet, the bible teaches a different set of values than the ones we are learning in our modern society.  So whose voice will our youth adhere to?

What example are we setting if our beliefs are fair game if the price is right?  If success is defined as what you have rather than whose you are, then we teach that becoming a millionaire is more valuable then being a child of the King?  If we do so we are training them to become Balaam’s, who don’t esteem the blessings of God, but would rather enjoy the honor and praise of men.  Our youth are becoming disenchanted with the current system, many no longer want to step foot in school or in church.

Scripture tells us that it is the earnest expectation of the creature that is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.3  There are a great cloud of witnesses and the heavenly host that are waiting for us to receive the revelation of who we are in Messiah so that the earth which was subject to corruption by the action of one man, Adam, can reclaim its rightful position that has been made available to us by the Last Adam (Jesus).  The only hold up being we have yet to fully comprehend or come to that revelation.

The answer to the education crisis, the health care crisis, the food shortage, the economic crisis, is not many, but one and that is Jesus Christ (Yahoshua Ha Maschiach).  Until we have a solid relationship with Him we have nothing to live for because He is the connection to our purpose, He is the only one who walked out of this life perfectly.  He is the only one who was tempted as we have been tempted, yet found faithful.4  He is the answer to every situation and when we live and serve a system that doesn’t acknowledge Him we are forced to do what those faithful men of times past has done, respectfully disobey.

While Daniel honored who he worked for he didn’t go against His God.  When Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego was faced with sudden death for serving their Elohim they didn’t compromise by means of tolerance to keep the peace, but rather they faced the inferno with a steadfast resolve that even if YHWH didn’t deliver them they wouldn’t leave their God.

We on the other hand give up too much in order to keep the peace, in order to make the few comfortable we have given up the liberties that we have been provided and in essence lost the hope in which we trusted.  As a result our children have been forsaken as it was prophesied in Hosea, it wasn’t the world that suffered from a lack of knowledge but His people who lacked knowledge and as a result of that lack of knowledge not only did they suffer but their children did as well.

We were never called to fit in, to intermingle, to get along, but rather we were called to holiness, to be set apart, a peculiar people, a royal priesthood.  Even in the natural we see this illustrated, you won’t find the Queen of England eating supper with the masses; only a select few are allowed to come into her presence.  We cannot do the things that the world has done, we cannot teach our children that these things are okay and we must tolerate it.  No, we are called to reject those things, to be separate from this untoward generation.6

What choices are you making today that will pave the way for the future?  Daniel had to make some sacrifices in order to usher in the Kingdom of God.  When he realized that the end of Judah’s captivity was just around the corner his response was to repent on behalf of the past generation, intercede for the current, and pray for the next, and to hold fast to the promises of the Almighty.  He also knew what time it was because he understood the books.  How much time are we spending reading the love letter that our Father wrote us?  Are we making time to read it as we make time to watch television, participate in activities, or play games?

I would like to leave you with some questions to ponder this month, because scripture makes it clear that if we attempt to make friends with the world, we become enemies of God. So make sure your life is counting for the kingdom.

Questions to Ponder:
What example are you setting for the next generation?  Do you fit in with the world or do you fit in with the King of Kings?  Are you moved by His Spirit or by your circumstances?  Do you make excuses or make a difference?  Will you be a Daniel for your generation?
1And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. (Rev 18:4-5)
2And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
(Gen 2:9)
3For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
(Rom 8:19-22)
4For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
(Heb 4:15)
5My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
(Hos 4:6)
6And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. (Act 2:40)
7Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (Jas 4:4)

Set Apart
Written by: DonnaMarie

Does YHWH hear when you call to Him? Do you hear what YHWH says to you? Define “hear”, then ask yourself, do I want to simply hear what my children say to me? Or, do I want to hear, listen, and act on what is heard? YHWH states He will hear our call to Him, that He will actually “shema”. The hebrew understanding of this word not only means to hear, rather to hear and do.

O sons of men, how long will my honor become a reproach? How long will
you love what is worthless and aim at deception? Selah. But know that the
LORD has set apart the godly man for Himself; The LORD hears when I call
to Him. Tremble, and do not sin; Meditate in your heart upon your bed,
and be still. Selah. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And trust in the
LORD. Many are saying, “Who will show us any good?” Lift up the light of
Your countenance upon us, O LORD! You have put gladness in my heart,
More than when their grain and new wine abound. In peace I will both lie
down and sleep, For You alone, O LORD, make me to dwell in safety.
~Psalm 4:2-8

“But know that the LORD has set apart the godly man for Himself; The LORD hears when I call to Him.” Psalm 4:3. If we want this promise from Yah, we are to aim to be set apart which begs the question, what is a godly man.
In reading the entire Psalm we are told it is not loving the worthless things or setting our goals in the direction of things that are contrary to His Word. It is giving up the things that the world says are “good” and sacrificing those things in order to to be righteous.
When applying these “guidelines” for living as set before us in His Word, you will be noticed as set apart from the world. If I could only express the look of shock and horror on the faces of people when they hear that we do not have cable television or even “local channels” or when it is noticed that we strictly monitor reading material, music, and clothing choices. Replacing “worldly” things blesses our family with family game nights and time for me to read aloud a wonderful book to my children. Opportunities to play outside together, work in the garden and as a family reap the harvest of a homegrown meal. I am afforded quality time with my youngest son as he adores cooking and preparing meals with me. My husband is incredibly active in my daughters life and she is able to better see, experience and understand the role of a godly husband and father. Her self worth as a young lady will not be based on the values of this world, rather the values of our Heavenly Fathers Word. And our eldest son, having the position of the first born son, is being encouraged based on godly character traits, to lead a life contrary to worldly desires. Lifting him up to stand for righteousness and truth according to the Word. What a hard calling on a young man, yet he is prevailing due to the strengths and gifts from YHWH!
Our Father wants us to be different. He calls us to be set apart. Be encouraged in what may appear difficult at first. I was not the happy camper when my husband announced the cable and television were to be shut off permanently. Everything inside of me wanted to rebel, because I too, could not imagine life without “entertainment”. Today I am thankful to not contend with commercials that promote promiscuity, shows that push the limit of accepted morality or images of dysfunctional, disrespectful lifestyles. YHWH has in fact abundantly blessed us with a peace and a joy that is indescribable. I adore my family and the lost time that we have regained together.
We are humbled that YHWH will hear us when we call to Him, moreover, we are driven to “shema” Him with increased desire!

 A Hebrew moment

Gimel is the third character in the Hebrew Alephbet, it means to lift up, or reward, often symbolizing a lifting up in pride, revelation, or exaltation.  Its picture originally resembled the picture of a camel and some writers would flip it upside down in such a way that it resembles a foot.  However you look at it, its meaning easily makes either plausible, as a Camel’s most distinguished description is its back which is lifted up above the body, and a foot must be lifted up in order to walk.

I wrestled this month to determine which word I would choose to use, and ultimately decided to switch from titles as I did in the previous months to focus on one word that has oh so much meaning to us as believers.  The word Redeem.  The hebrew word is pronounced ga-al and it is a three character word. The second character is ‘Aleph’ we know is the first letter in the Hebrew language and was covered in June’s newsletter, the last letter is ‘lamed’ and it resembles a cane and its meaning is authority, as it resembles the rod that Moses used which represented the authority of God.  Also, Hebrew people were known to be shepherds and shepherds had to keep a rod in order to protect and steer their sheep or oxen.  So when we put the letters together it would literally reveal the picture “to lift up (gimel) the strong (aleph) authority (lamed)” or another way of reading it would be “lifting up in revelation or exaltation (gimel) the strong (aleph) authority (lamed)”.  Which is true indeed because we are redeemed when we lift up Messiah Yahoshua (Jesus Christ) in our hearts and lives.  (John 3:14)
The resources below is where I gained insight into this beautiful picturesque language. It is a valuable resource you will not regret buying.

Poem Written by: Purity Poet
Ooh without the Law it’s so easy to tempt them
Let’s get sin started and watch as it gains momentum
The Bible Says with lust, the temptation gets it start
We are susceptible to sin when we don’t do the Word from the heart
Doing the Word from the lips only
Will always leave you spiritually lonely
“Beauty and the Beast” caught up in the before and forgot about the after
And now you moving so quick you can’t hear sin’s laughter
They dangle unrighteous sex before your eyes
Look at all these outrageous lies
They don’t even have real talent; they are just bootlegging off of the thrill of sex
‘Cause they know that sex outside of covenant a.k.a. lust will lead to what’s next
Lust gives birth to sin and sin gives birth to death
Yeah it doesn’t stop till it kills and you take your last breath
The Law is done away with, trick or treat?
Just believe it doesn’t matter what I do or what I eat
I just want someone to sweep me off my feet
I just want to come to assembly and take a seat
I don’t want to know I don’t want to get too deep
I’ll ask no questions and maybe even fall asleep
Man I thought ya’ll were serious
But really ya’ll were just curious
Spiritually dead
Spiritually unfed
No one wants to listen to me
As I talk about sexual purity
Standing outside of Jerusalem The Messiah wept
Because the bride said his covenant couldn’t be kept
We want to be like the other nations, they seem to be doing so well
At least that’s what they show us on TV, we believe the fairytale
Holy Spirit just let me be clear
Only when I feel like it can You dwell in here
See every day I don’t have time
To constantly renew my mind
Let me Turn off the lights and turn on the TV
Let me watch on these shows how they have me laughing at me
Now I’m beginning to understand
Why the Messiah asked will he find faith in the land
They fall away at the time of temptation
They are drunk with the wine of Babylon’s fornication
We’re in relationship with Babylon full of a lot of confusion
When love doesn’t embrace truth it’s all an illusion
Babylon has sent us wolves in sheep clothin’
Your hearts and minds and emotions they have stolen
Silly women forever learning but never coming to the knowledge of truth
We have to be like our biblical sister Ruth
And leave the ways of Babylon the great whore
And not partake of her worship of Baal Peor
If the world really understood sex they’d take it off of TV
And let it be set apart of the sacred mystery
The two become one
It’s deeper and more than just about having fun
It’s a replica of the Messiah and His Bride
If they told you anything else- they lied
Ha Satan the father of lies
Leaving desperate husbands and wives
Oh daughters and sons of Jerusalem don’t wake love before it’s time
It will have you drunk with fornication’s wine

Oil for our car is not oil for our body!

Petrolatum is used by manufacturers because it is unbelievably cheap.  Buyer beware what is cheap for manufacturers can be costly concerning your health.  Petrolatum is also known as petroleum jelly, this mineral oil derivative is used for its emollient (skin smoothing agent) properties in cosmetics.  This can lead to chapping and dryness.  It has no nutrient value for the skin and can interfere with the body’s own natural moisturizing mechanism, often creating the very conditions it claims to alleviate.
Petrolatum has been found in breast tumors, suffocation of the skin, premature aging, and aggravated acne.  With all these potential hazards does it not surprise you that the Food and Drug Administration which is supposed to protect us has actually labeled this as an approved over the counter protectant?
Research at the Herb Research foundation noted that skin absorbs up to 60 percent of the chemicals in products that contain petrolatum, and these chemicals move directly into the bloodstream.  This substance suffocates the skin by absorbing these chemicals directly into the bloodstream decreasing oxygen absorbed through the skin.

or pay later with red.

A lot of people wonder why I spend so much money with Young Living.  As a label reader I realize that to live healthy I must pay upfront with both time and money.  Since I consider the time I have on earth of greater value then money which fluctuates in value in order to accomplish living life until I die it is necessary for me to value the life I have by giving my body that which will help it work its optimum.  Having to read labels in grocery stores, and clothing stores is enough work, I consider it a blessing to be able to regain some of my time back by having the benefit of being partners with a company that maintains the same standard of quality to which I myself have required.  Having experienced and paid the cost required to restore health, I can say with certainty I would much rather pay with green cash then my red blood.  Remember, you translate value to your family through your actions.  If you teach your kids that the cost of a substance is more valuable then their quality of life they will grow up looking at the bottom line then rather then the true riches, and they will value money over health only to lose both in the end.
